Everyone Needs A Little Absract In There Lives

Did some more digging and found an awesome image.
I know very little about this image. I believe
its acrylic on paper,it maybe on transpareny film.
It was made in December 2012. Im not sure of what size
the original is. This image has been cropped,
resized and slighly edited for scanner fuzz.
Its has not been heavliy edited or had any filters
ran on it. Just scanned cropped and cleaned for
a few dust dots.

Well Lets See What We Can Dig Up Today

I have found a couple of eight by tens acrylic on canvas. They're unnamed and I'm afraid I no long have them. If I do I have no idea where they are. However I found the scan of them looking around on my pc. I really like them so I hope I can figure out where they went. I have also posted a close up view of the top image. Its very hard to see what they look like up close without a detail view. I hope everyone enjoys them as much as I do making them.

To the right we have a detail view of the image above.

With my unique style its hit or miss, so let me know what you think.

The Arch

The Arch, Gateway To the West its called, sits in downtown Saint Louis. This is my first attempt to paint the Arch with paint. It's not my best work; it is, however, very interesting, or at least I think so.

The original is approximately eight by ten inches; it's been a while. I know the black one is on transparency and I believe the white one is paper. I have no idea where they are.  I'm not very organized.

They where digitally cleaned up using a graphics program. The reason that the one on transparency film is black is due to scanning the piece with scanner lid open. I do or have done a lot of work on write-on transparency film, because originally the idea was to use a large format printer to make Giclee prints which is a fancy word for ink jet prints, and, because its easy to store small pieces. It's much harder to store canvas pieces.

Well let's show you what we have today :-)

Below is, I think, is on paper.

Below is a picture I took and manipulated in a computer.

Below is on transparency film.

Thanks for taking a look at my art.  As always let me know what you think.

Dropped My Tablet :-(

The other day I dropped my tablet :-( It was in its stand. Dropped about four and a half feet, then slid across the floor. The tablet was ok however, the stand didn't fair as well. So I repaired & rebuilt the base and repaired the holder best I could. Here is a link to the post about the original stand.

Here are the parts I used to fix the stand

Rebuilt and painted tablet stand.

I hope this one doesn't get dropped.

More Scrap Art

These pieces are from fixing my tablet stand. I dropped my tablet stand other day with my tablet in it, so had to fix it. In the process of painting the stand I made these. They're not that great but you win some, you lose some.  I like them anyway. I will post the new stand very soon. Anyway here are
the pieces I made in the process.

Scrap Art

What do you do with those bits you have left over or made in the process of making an art piece? Well I try to use them as much as I can; save as much material as possible. And every now and then I find bits of scraps, offcuts, or things made in the process of making another art piece laying around my studio. Today I have a few examples.

The piece below is a cut-off I got from trimming a piece to fit in a frame. Its tiny but is so cool. The texture, the look, and the size, all interesting. This image was scanned, and due to the fact it's not flat, has a few specks of white here and there that are not on the original. I did try to clean them up the best I could without destroying the clarity of the piece. It measures approximately 2.38 x 6.78 inches. I cannot wait to see what it looks like after it's matted and framed. As many of my pieces it is yet to be titled.

With my art work its very hard to get a clear picture of what it really looks like without seeing it
in person.  So much detail is lost in the scanning or photography due to the texture and the very minute subtle changes in the pieces. They are such intricate small details with subtle color changes, its hard to get a perspective of what they look like without having the original.

Below is another cut-off, probably off the same art project as above. Again, due to the scanner picking up small dots or tiny bits of dust, it seems to have a lot of white specks but in the original most don't exist. It's just the way the scanner sees it. But scanning it allows for a lot of detail that may otherwise be missed by the camera. It is approximately 2.66 x 10.31.

Below is a piece I found laying around; no idea when I did it or
what I was thinking, or why I made it. Its approximately 4 x 13.5.

As always, let me know what you think.

Sorry For Lack Of Posts

Just checking in....

You know how it is - not enough and energy to keep up with it all.  My health isn't what it used to be.

As you get older, where does the time go?

Thanks to my editor for helping me with my Blog.  It was very nice of her. I really appreciated what she has done for me.

I am not so sure where my blog is going or what my plans are. I have a very hard time writing. These days, because of illness, it's taking a lot more energy to produce art work. Well, more energy then I happen to have. So while I want to post everyday, its very hard on me.

Its often scary to post your art work.  Will people like it?  Will they love it?  Will they try to steal it? Its all very scary. I start so many projects - too many! Some turn
out great and others, well, one day... :)

Anyway I took some photos the other day of flowers in my yard. I hope everyone enjoys them :-)
